RBD Palm Oil

RBD Palm Oil

RBD Palm Oil is a pale golden liquid or semi-solid at ambient temperature, which transforms into a transparent yellow liquid upon gentle warming. It is obtained through the refinement of crude palm oil. RBD Palm Oil is extensively employed by major food manufacturers, including instant noodle producers, snack food companies, and others, primarily as a frying and cooking medium. It is also utilized in the manufacture of margarine, shortenings, ice cream, condensed milk, vanaspati, and soap. Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil extracted from the mesocarp (reddish pulp) of the oil palm fruit. Beyond food manufacturing, palm oil is incorporated into beauty products and used as a biofuel. It accounts for approximately 33% of global oil production from oil crops.

Owing to its stability and capacity to preserve flavor and consistency in processed foods, palm oil is frequently favored by food manufacturers.

RBD Palm Oil is wholly obtained from vegetable-based palm oil.

Refining Process

RBD Palm Oil represents Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized palm oil. It is palm oil that has undergone a refinement procedure to eliminate contaminants, color, and odor, rendering it appropriate for a broad spectrum of culinary and industrial applications.

Crude Palm Oil is initially procured from the fruit of the oil palm tree. The crude oil encompasses contaminants, free fatty acids, and a crimson hue attributable to carotenoids. The refinement procedure eliminates these contaminants via stages including degumming, neutralization, and washing. The subsequent bleaching and deodorization stages further refine the oil, yielding a clearer, purer product.

Bleaching Process

Following the refining stage, the oil may yet hold a degree of lingering hue and extraneous substances. To augment its visual quality and eradicate these impurities, the oil is processed with decolorizing substances such as activated fuller’s earth or activated charcoal. This procedure efficiently eradicates residual colorants and contaminants.

Deodorization Process

Crude Oil frequently possesses a pronounced scent and flavor that may be objectionable for particular uses. Deodorization entails warming the oil under reduced pressure to eradicate those scents and flavors. This stage is vital for generating a neutral-tasting, scent-free oil appropriate for a broad spectrum of culinary and industrial applications
